Etude House Fantastic Color Eyes Hallowinner and Hello Pumpqueen Palettes Review

Hi hi!!! I finally received my Etude House Halloween Palettes in the mail! They are late for October, but they're still adorable.

Hallowinner Palette

The Hallowinner palette comes in a metallic silver box

The actual palette has a metallic cover, almost like a mirror, with a cute little witch's hat. The case is sturdy, small, and compact, perfect for travel.

Inside there's a large mirror and a double sided applicator for on the go use or if you're traveling.

The names and illustrations are super cute! Loving Candy Shop and Witch Soup.

There's 6 colors inside: 4 shimmers, 1 matte, and a gel liner (but, I use mine as a shadow base)

City Romance, Candy Shop, and Jealousy
City Romance: A shimmery taupe
Candy Shop: A shimmery, almost metallic golden peach (Really pretty in the light)
Jealousy: A matte coral

Halloween Fantasy, Abracadabra, and Witch Soup
Halloween Fantasy: A red metallic copper
Abracadabra: Dark brown eyeliner, but I have to use it as a base because it's not dark enough and has no staying power alone
Witch Soup: Mostly multicolored glitter as the shadow is not too pigmented, but can be built up into a sheer, iridescent dark grey (My fave of the palette)

Hello PumpQueen Palette

It comes in this cute box with a pumpkin on it.

The case is super cute with the same design as the box. Nice and sturdy, like the other palette.

There's a nice big mirror for use

Super cute names again~
Like the other palette there are 6 colors inside: 4 shimmers, 1 matte, and a gel liner, but the layout is different

Cacao Fondue, Brown Sugar, and Pearl Lantern
Cacao Fondue: Medium brown eyeliner that I use as a base because it's so close to my skin-tone and has little staying power alone
Brown Sugar: Medium reddish, shimmery brown
Pearl Lantern: Shimmery yellow gold

Honey Pumpkin, Caramelizing, and a Piece of Pie
Honey Pumpkin: Matte orange with a hint of brown (my fave of this palette)
Caramelizing: Beautiful gold, metallic
Piece of Pie: Antique, brownish gold that I can't use. Somehow, I'm allergic to the glitter in this shadow so I get crazy itchy wherever I place it. T^T

 Comparison
Compared side by side, Pumpqueen is more warm, while Hallowinner is more cool toned. The shades in Pumpqueen are more brown and golden, while Hallowinner is more taupe and pink.

Thoughts

I really like these palettes, the designs are cute and the shadows are wonderful, but I do wish there were darker colors added and the eyeliners are pretty useless to me. For the most part, all of the shadows are very pigmented, especially the shimmery shadows. These palettes are great for everyday fall looks and for traveling. I really love these and have been using them a lot lately. But, I hate that they're limited edition, which means I can't repurchase. Also, the price is a whammy if you're ordering online. In S. Korea these run for about $15, but online I had to purchase these for $22 a piece, which was frustrating, but worth it.

Pros

  • Nice color selection
  • Pigmented, go on easily
  • Pretty packaging and design
  • Compact and sturdy

Cons

  • Eyeliners are pretty useless
  • Limited edition
  • Online Purchase (Gets pricey)
  • Personal: allergic to just one shade

Results

Price: 4/5
Quality: 4/5
Packaging: 5/5
Pigmentation: 5/5
Overall: 4.5/5
